Kotogakko Paopu
Chapter 10
So Come on Home, Roxas
Tears fell from his eyes as Roxas packed his clothes and things upstairs. Several suitcases laid on his bed next to the one he was working on at the moment...
Everything had gone down hill when he came to Tokyo, going to an all boy's school. Meeting Axel... It was all down hill... And now, Roxas was going home. Back to Osaka. The place he was born and had always loved. Everyone was nice there, everybody respected him and didn't get angry.
Some place that's like that? That's a true home... And Roxas certainly missed it.
"Roxas!" called his mother from downstairs. "Your father's here!" Roxas's father walked up the stairs and opened Roxas's door.
"Need any help with those suitcases?"
Roxas gave a sniffle and a nod and his father carried two while Roxas carried one... They headed outside to his father's car and placed the cases inside.
"I'm gonna wait outside, okay, Dad?" came Roxas and his father gave a quick nod and went back inside. Roxas placed his hands in his pockets and stared at the long road that lead into the city, where his school was.
They'd be heading the other way. Towards the train station... Roxas shut his eyes and gave a sigh... How would've wondered how it could have been if none of these issues and bad things had happened? Then Roxas opened his eyes once more when he heard thunder crash loudly above him.
Roxas shuddered softly from the cold wind that blew across his face, rubbing his bare shoulders and staring out into the sky where he saw one little tiny hole in the sky with just a little light peeking through. Roxas paused for a moment and remembered about all the good things that had happened at school...
Meeting Sora. Hey, the boy was so fun and outgoing. And the teachers... oh, Saix Sensei was super nice; always helping Roxas out when he'd have a problem. He remembered the first time he went on a date with Axel, oh.... and how lovely it was, too.
"Okay, Rox," came Roxas's father, moving outside. He held two umbrellas in his hand; one was black and the other was sun yellow with daisies on it - he handed that one to Roxas who gave a irritated face. "It's gonna rain so we'll need these. Your mother is gonna stay here for a week or so and then move back to Osaka with us."
Roxas nodded and moved to the passengers side, opening the door and getting inside. He immediately rolled down the window and looked outside. His blue eyes landed on his mother who was waving at him with a gentle smile and he waved and smiled back.
Roxas's father started the car and they drove off...
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy... Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality. Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see. I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy. Because I'm easy come, easy go, little high, little low...
"Riku, turn that crap off, please?" Axel said in Riku's car who quickly turned down the radio.
"What's up?" he said quietly, surprised enough he could hear his voice over the rain hitting the rooftop. Axel stared gloomily out the window, head resting on his fisted hand.
"Nothing..." he replied.
"C'mon, Ax," Riku argued. "You can talk to me." Axel waited a few moments before speaking again.
"It's just Roxas..." he grumbled. "He's leaving to go to Osaka tomorrow... I'm just thinking how bad I'm gonna feel for both me and Roxas when I tell him good-bye..."
Riku stuck out his bottom lip, stopping at a stop light. The silver-haired boy turned and looked at Axel.
"Axel, he wasn't right for you..."
"Shut-up!" Axel almost yelled. "Yes he was! It was just all the damn accidents that kept happening all around school. That dumbass thing at the hospital it's just--" Axel grabbed the side of his head and growled loudly. "Nevermind, Riku... Just forget I said anything, I'm sorry..."
Riku sighed and continued driving, arriving at his own house and getting out a jet black umbrella and helping Axel out of the car and going towards his house.
"Hey! Axel! Riku!" Called a voice.
"Hm?" Riku turned around and saw a soaked Sora sprinting as fast as he could towards both of them. He was panting.
"Axel! It's Roxas!"
"What about him?" asked Axel concerned.
"He's going back to Osaka. Tonight!"
"He IS?!" Axel almost shouted. Sora nodded quickly.
"Yeah, he's going to the train station right now!"
Axel stopped thinking for a moment and looked off at the city. The train station was at least ten miles from where they were. He'd never make it in time.
And Axel suddenly felt that his broken leg was better. Could he drive himself?
Axel, without thinking, ran towards Riku's car and got inside.
"Axel!" Sora and Riku yelled in unison as the redhead cranked the car up and pressed the gas peddle hard before driving off and top speed down the wet road.
Riku blinked...
"My car..."
"How in the hell did he not like, fall over just then? His leg was broken!" Sora exclaimed. Riku suddenly realized Sora was actually there and turned and glanced at him, staring into the boy's big, blue eyes.
"Sora isn't it?"
The brunette glanced at Riku.
"Y-Yes?"
"I've never realized... how lovely your eyes are..."
Sora's entire face went from fair to bright crimson in utter seconds...
Axel drove down the road at an extreme speed where he knew he might get pulled, but he didn't care. And he was wondering why suddenly his leg felt increasingly better. Like it wasn't even broken!
The small silver car skidded around curves and corners, barely missing a stop sign. He ran two red lights and almost ran into the back of another car... He was determined to get to that train station in time...
Roxas opened up the yellow umbrella and stepped out of his car.
"Roxas, just stay here and watch the car, I'll be right back," came his father. Roxas nodded and stayed under the archway, watching the rain pour and hit the ground with splashes.
How he was going to miss Tokyo. He wondered what it'd be like without him there? Would Axel and Luna just get back together again? Forgetting Roxas completely?
Roxas shut his eyes and the thought, unable to stop one tear from leaking out under his eyelid.
"Okay, Roxas! Come on!" Roxas turned around when hearing his father and he took one step forward when suddenly he heard the loudest car screech he had ever heard.
Turning around, Roxas glanced out into the open street to see a long silver car come driving at a very fast speed towards the train station.
"Roxas!"
Roxas blinked when he saw who was inside the car. It was no other than Axel, coming to a brake and stopping just about twenty or so feet away from him. Axel opened the door and stepped out, becoming wet.
"Axel!" gasped Roxas, surprised at the sight before him. "What're you doing here?"
"Roxas," came Axel breathlessly. "If you're going to leave Tokyo... then I'm coming with you."
Roxas felt his breath catch in his throat and his heart beat become faster. His eyes swelled up with tears and a smile ran across his face.
"You must love me... You must love me if you'd give all this up to come with me in a stupid southern town..." Roxas dropped his umbrella and ran swiftly out into the rain, almost slipping and falling into Axel's arms. Axel instantly wrapped his arms around Roxas's small body and hugged him lovingly.
"I thought I was gonna die...having to go to your house and say goodbye?" Axel told him softly. He pulled him away, staring into the boy's face. They were both soaking wet, clothes becoming heavier and hair falling down some. "I can't leave you alone, Roxas. I just can't."
"And... I didn't wanna leave you alone, Axel," Roxas said. "I'm just so happy you came. I was scared you might not because I told you I'd be leaving tomorrow, but... you still came!" Roxas squeezed Axel's waist as tight as he could and hugged him hard.
Then, without warning, Axel grasped Roxas's cheeks and pulled him up in a soft, passionate kiss. Roxas quickly kissed back, pulling Axel closer to him, making the older of the two deepen the kiss.
Once they were finished, they both pulled away and just stared into each others eyes lovingly.
"I love you, Roxas," Axel whispered. Roxas gave a cute smile.
"And I love you, Axel..." Roxas gave Axel another quick kiss and then said, "I wanna stay in Tokyo again."
"Oh my God..."
"How... romantic..."
"This is the best soap opera I've seen in such a long time..."
Axel and Roxas blinked and turned around suddenly to see another car - this one quite old looking - with Riku, Sora, and somebody Roxas thought he would never see again... Luna, all standing next to the car with smirks on their faces.
"Wh-What're you guys smirking at?!" Axel snapped.
"Oh, nothing," Riku smiled.
"Looks like we have a new couple to torture now, don't we, Sora?" Luna chuckled. Sora gave a quick nod with a wink towards Roxas.
Roxas blinked.
"Luna? You're not angry at me?" started the blond. "You're not jealous?"
"Hell no!" Luna said. "I think I've been with Axel long enough! And the guy was always talking about you! So, hey, thought I'd let him go. Besides, I've found a new boyfriend. His name is Reno!"
"The Reno?" Riku asked, looking at Luna a bit wide-eyed.
"You bet'cha," Luna smiled, licking his lips. "He's a redhead, cocky - in more ways than one - and he's got a sweet ride."
"Oh, Luna, I have a nice ride, too!" Riku whined. Luna raised an eyebrow and glanced at Riku's car, which had scratches, bumps and dents everywhere in it. Riku immediately looked at Axel who nervously laughed.
"So, you two love birds gonna stay here?" Luna asked. Roxas glanced up at Axel and smiled.
"I think I will..."
Roxas's father was standing there from behind, talking it over with the ticket manager.
"Yes, sir! We wanna stay here!"
Luna examined the both of them, smiling cheerily.
"You know, you guys look real perfect together," he said. Luna then turned around and saw Riku and Sora just standing there, not close but not too far away. The blunette approached them and grabbed Sora and Riku's hands and put them together.
"Come on, Riku. The boy's been trying to get your attention forever..."
Sora blushed ruby and Riku smiled at him.
"Don't worry," Riku said. "He's got my attention right now." Luna smiled widely.
"Hey..." he started, placing a finger on his chin. "I think I've become a match maker..."
Roxas gave a chuckle and glanced up at Axel, giving him a warm smile, and Axel returned it. That's when the rain stopped suddenly and the clouds cleared, revealing a sparkling sun.
"You know?" started Roxas. "I think things are gonna become much brighter now..."
"I certainly think they will," Axel smirked, nuzzling Roxas's neck sweetly. Roxas sighed softly.
"Goodness...what a day..."
The End...
